Since the release of the Raspberry Pi 2 I’ve been meaning to take a new look at the face tracking system to see if that quad-core processor can squeeze out a few extra frames per second. So with just a little grinding away I am proud to present the new and improved face tracker (at least the complicated part of it…)
When I ran the old version and saw I was face detecting at more than 30 frames per second, I knew it was time to beef this output up. I abandoned the 240p grey scale output and was determined to get something viewable on the screen without killing the frame rate. And with just a little work, I eventually got some full color HD goodness for all to enjoy.
Now to get those motors moving again…
